2011 Porsche 911
Porsche 911 Carrera 2S Coupé – One Owner – Original Paint – Exceptional History
There are Porsche 911s that impress because they have been restored to perfection, and then there are cars that are special precisely because nobody has ever needed to restore them. This 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera 2S Coupé belongs firmly in the second category.
Delivered new by Porsche Centre Geel on 10 March 2012, this Carrera 2S has remained with its first and only owner from new. The original purchase invoice is still with the car. It also confirms the specification, including Dark Blue metallic paintwork, electrically adjustable sports seats and PDK transmission.
What makes the story compelling is the man behind the car. Its owner was a genuine Porsche enthusiast who treated this 911 as his baby throughout his ownership. Sadly, he has since passed away, and the car has now come to Carcave. Looking through the accompanying documentation, it quickly becomes apparent that this was not simply a car that happened to be serviced when necessary. It was a Porsche that was continuously cared for.
The history file is exceptional. From its earliest years onward, invoices document repeated visits to official Porsche Centres for scheduled maintenance, intermediate servicing, brake work, tyre changes, winter and summer wheel changes and inspections. The invoices follow the car through the years and provide a wonderful chronological picture of its life. The original service book further supports this history, with Porsche Centre stamps documenting its maintenance over the years.
Even more telling is that in June 2023, at approximately 121,883 km, the car underwent Porsche’s extensive 111-point inspection and was accepted into the Porsche Approved programme. A three-year Porsche Approved warranty was taken out, demonstrating just how seriously its owner continued to look after the car more than a decade after taking delivery.
For us, however, one of the most attractive aspects of this particular Carrera 2S is its original paintwork. We have deliberately chosen not to cosmetically perfect the car before offering it for sale. There are some stone chips from normal use and some minor paint damage around the two front bumper air inlets. These could of course be refinished, but doing so would mean sacrificing part of what makes this Porsche so interesting: its untouched character. We therefore prefer to leave that decision to its next custodian. An original car is only original once.
This philosophy suits the 991 generation particularly well. The Carrera 2S combines the classic rear-engined 911 layout with a naturally aspirated 3.8-litre flat-six producing 400 PS (294 kW), coupled in this example to Porsche’s PDK transmission. The accompanying Certificate of Conformity confirms the 3,800 cc engine, 294 kW output and seven-speed transmission. It represents a particularly appealing point in 911 history: modern enough to be an effortless GT.
